Visit of the World Bank to the actors of the E-Burkina / GIS-Rural Sector project in Burkina Faso

As part of the E-Burkina project to set up the Geographic Information System #gis for the entire rural sector of Burkina Faso and implemented by the consortium composed of MaptoGIS (formerly 2D3D.GIS), TSI and CIRIL Group / Business Geografic division, the president of the incubation center KeoLid Innovation Mr. Lassane Ouédraogo had the honor to welcome an interministerial delegation of rural sector actors (Mr. Director of ANPTIC, Mr. Minister of MAAH, Madam Minister of the Digital Economy, Madam Minister of Women, National Solidarity and the Family) around the World Bank delegation #worldbank represented by Mr. Axel Van Trotsenburg, Director General of Operations.

A meeting that took place in the presence of the consortium’s Team Leader Mr Pierre Ouedraogo, during the training sequence for administrators and users of the GIS-Rural Sector platform that took place in Ouagadougou in February and March. The training session involved 3 of the 5 trainers planned by the consortium to strenghten the capacities of more than 120 people from the rural sector (ANPTIC, MAAH, MEA, MRAH, MEEVCC).

As a reminder, this integrated GIS platform is composed of a Spatial Data Infrastructure (IDS) around a PostgreSQL / PostGIS spatial database, an ETL (FME), an institutional web portal (CMS), ” a Geoportal (WebGIS ​​GEO Generator) and a Geocatalog (Geonode). The users and contributors using open source office GIS software QGIS to spatially process the raw field data.
